It's a motel in a more remote area-- reading other reviews, I have no idea why they were expecting it to be more than what it is. I suggest you google what to expect from general small town motels and then come back and read the rest of my review. The negatives: Like all small town motels, the walls are very thin. I suggest requesting an upper floor room to reduce noise as much as possible. The room was also very warm, so I suggest turning on the ac as soon as you walk in to keep it a decently cool temp-- it will cool it down quickly. The price is also raised A LOT specifically during the Renaissance Festival. I'm sure that's their bread and butter so im not upset about it, but its sad that it's so pricey with no additions to breakfast or anything. The breakfast was very sparse with very few options. The positives: The people here are very kind. The motel is super convenient for the Renaissance Festival, including a free shuttle for use to/from that goes from 9am until 2/3am. The beds were comfortable and despite a little dust behind the table/under the beds, the room was clean. They have shampoo and soap for use in the bathroom (it's not high quality but if you don't like it there's a dollar tree right next to the motel). They cleaned and switched out the linens while we were gone so we always had enough towels. No safety issues came up with the area or room, so we were all very happy with our stay In conclusion: you're paying for the location, shuttle service, and very basic amenities at this motel. If you want better, you'll need to find a hotel further away and arrange your own transportation. For what it is, I'd absolutely rate this motel as one of the best small town motels I've ever been to!!

An older (completely remodeled) hotel that I didn’t expect to be a nice as it was! It was very clean, quiet with comfortable beds. The bathrooms were brand new and had great water pressure. The only thing I would tell the owners is maybe put some black out curtains over the plantation shutters for if people are light sensitive. They have great security lighting outside which just allowed some of the light to come through even with the shutters closed. But I’m just sensitive to light, didn’t bother my husband at all. Also good little breakfast. Great place to stay and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here during Christmas a couple of months ago and I meant to write a review before now. Loved our room, very pleased with renovation, no complaints, very comfortable and clean, AC worked great, excellent price too. Thank you and we will be staying here again !!

My husband and I stayed here while visiting our kids, and let me tell you, we WILL be staying here from now on. The owner was really nice and professional, the room was beautiful, and had all the amenities that I needed. When I come in the office for coffee, he made it fresh for us. Great place to stay!

I was pleasantly surprised. The shower had solid walls that were recently caulked, instead of the usual subways tiles with gross grout lines. The towels were surprisingly soft for the hotel. I also enjoyed the eco friendly soap dispenser! When I entered, there was a goodie bag for me filled with water and snacks on the table :) There was also an excessive noise-fee, which I imagined helped keep a quiet night. The only fault was the lack of curtains in the room. There were blinds, but light leaks through them.

We went for the busiest weekend of Texas Renfest. When I booked, for 4 people with 2 queen beds, they let you know that cancelations for renfest weekends must be 15 days in advance, and you will be charged upon checkin. However I did get a call a week beforehand saying they were going to charge my card that night. Which I don't mind, but they need to put that on their site or not do it at all, if I didn't have the funds ready yet, that could've been problematic. The room was clean, but there was a smell at first, like someone had just used the bathroom. We aired out the room and it was fine after 15 minutes. There is a shuttle that goes to the fair and they were fantastic, huge shout out to Ms. Heather and her husband, Doug. The hotel did provide a nice little gift bag with waters and some snacks. The breakfast was cereal, some oatmeal cream pies and fruit, and bread and jam. Not much but it was something. For the value, it was a clean place to sleep and get ready. And the shuttle service for the fair made it even better.

I travel more than a bit for work. Normally I stay at Hilton brand hotels (gold and diamond Hhonors member every year) but we were moving and needed a place that could/would accommodate the huge Uhaul and 12' trailer in tow. We reserved the 3 King bed room because we have 5 children. When I arrived the owner of the hotel let me park the Uhaul right in front where it would be safe. He moved his car so I could actually park my minivan and the attached trailer to some empty spots in the lot. I was blown away. Our room was very clean, bathroom very clean, towels stocked, and everything in order. The beds were comfortable and everything in great order. I would go as far as saying we were treated like a Bed and Breakfast. I can't speak for any of the other rooms but our room was huge and really awesome. My kids enjoyed it and I HIGHLY recommend the 3 King room. Not many hotel managers/owners would go out of their way like this gentleman did for my family. I am so grateful. My kids went down to the office for some cereal and commented how pleasant the owner was. No complaints at all from me on this hotel. It's not a Hilton, but I also didn't pay Hilton prices.

Everything was very clean and surprisingly quiet for being that close to the road. We did not hear our neighbors above or on either side or any road noise. The owner was extremely nice when we locked ourselves out and the next morning when my friend needed a band-aid. I thought the shower was pretty cool, I haven't seen that color of marbled green onyx since the 80's in Seattle. Good pressure and the shower head was not clogged. I'm not sure why but most of the hotels I've frequented in TX have partially clogged shower heads and terrible water pressure. Sheets were clean, everything was in working order and very well maintained. Only strange thing was that the room had two of the same painting on the walls. They must really like that painting...

We were there with 2 small children and had connecting rooms. They had turned on the a/c in the room before we got there and it was nice and cool. The rooms were very clean and appeared to have new mattresses and bedding. It is obviously a family owned business and we appreciated their hard work and efforts to make sure their guests were comfortable. Were there things that were negatives? Sure, the fridges, microwaves, and other furniture were old, but considering they put us first (good mattresses and bedding, clean room), that is what matters.
